There are various types of traffic violations that drivers commit, with or without complete intention. Infractions are handled by the traffic department where as misdemeanors are handled by the Criminal Department. Some violations may require a mandatory appearance in court, while most other demeanor tickets can be handled by phone or internet. Infraction punishment may be a fine only or at times mandatory community services or attending online driving school.
